Are you looking for something more than medication to help improve your child's behavior? Summit is accepting applications for its award-winning, evidence-based Summer Treatment Program (STP) for children with ADHD which begins on Monday, July 2 and continues through Friday, August 10. The program is designed for children/adolescents in grades 1 - 10 and has been named a Model Program in Child and Family Health by the American Psychological Association and SAMHSA. Dr. Justin Naylor, Coordinator of ADHD Services, will oversee the program which will be held at Smallwood Elementary School in Snyder.

The Summer Treatment Program (STP), founded in 1980 by William E. Pelham, Jr., Ph.D., was formerly operated in Buffalo by the Center for Children and Families at the University at Buffalo.  The STP was acquired by Summit Educational Resources in 2010 and provides a structured but camp-like environment for children.  The STP has a proven track record of effective treatment for more than 2,500 children and families. Based on its excellence in providing treatment for children with ADHD, it has been featured on national television news and in national magazines. The STP has also been:

  • used in clinical trials conducted under the auspices of the National Institute of Mental Health
  • named a Model Program in Child and Family Mental Health by the American Psychological Association and SAMHSA
  • named a program of the year by CHADD, the national parent advocacy group for children with ADHD
  • listed in SAMHSA's National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices.
