Stephen R. Anderson, Ph.D.
Chief Executive Officer


Dr. Anderson was selected as the Executive Director of Summit in 1995. A child psychologist, Dr. Anderson is a national expert in the education and treatment of children with autism and related developmental disabilities. He has published many articles and book chapters on the education of children with developmental disabilities and serves as an editorial reviewer for several leading professional journals. He also has served in advisory and director positions with many national professional associations and service agencies.

As a licensed psychologist and board certified behavior analyst, Dr. Anderson has worked in the field of developmental disabilities for more than 25 years and has served as an expert witness and consultant throughout the United States and other countries.

Dr. Anderson received his Ph.D. in Developmental and Child Psychology from the University of Kansas, at which he now holds an appointment as Adjunct Assistant Professor. He also serves as Adjunct Associate Professor at the State University of New York at Buffalo and an adjunct with the Exceptional Education Department at Buffalo State College, and he has served in a similar capacity at other leading universities.

He was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Summit in 2008.
