Summit Educational Resources' ADHD Children’s Summer Treatment Program (STP) is the only comprehensive evidence-based treatment program for children with behavioral and learning problems in existence. The STP has been named a model program of service delivery by Division 12 of the American Psychological Association. It is also listed on SAMHSA’s National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices and was named a program of the year by CHADD, the national advocacy organization for ADHD. For less than $11/hour, children receive the equivalent of 240 hours of direct service designed to improve functioning in the areas of academics, classroom behavior, and social relationships with peers and adults. One evening per week, parents receive instruction on how to better manage children in the home and provide the necessary support to improve functioning at school.
Children feel like they are at a summer camp, not a treatment program. This is because our goal is to help your child build self-esteem and behavioral, academic, and social competencies. Children spend the day playing sports and engaging in recreational activities with other children their age. They also participate in social skills training, arts and crafts, and spend two hours per day in a classroom setting working on academics and behaviors conducive to academic success. Children participate in special activities on Fridays. Four expertly trained staff members work with each group 14-16 children. A Licensed Psychologist, with expertise in ADHD, supervises staff.
