Summit Opens Hamburg Office

In response to growing demand from families and educational and medical professionals in southern Erie and Northern Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties, Summit Educational Resources will open an office at 4535 Southwestern Boulevard, Hamburg, on July 9, 2012, to provide developmental evaluations as well as clinical services for individuals with language and other developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and mental health concerns.

Parents and professionals consistently express a need for Summitís services in areas south of Buffalo. This new office will make it more convenient for families to have their child evaluated and to access essential clinical and counseling services,î said Stephen R. Anderson, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of Summit. Additionally, this will make it more convenient for our staff with to work with families in their homes to provide therapeutic and support services.

Summit will continue to provide these services at its administrative headquarters on Stahl Road in Getzville with clinical services offered from its 415 North French Road location.

Evaluations at Summitís Hamburg site will be conducted by licensed psychologists and other staff professionals. Clinical and counseling services will be provided by David Meichenbaum, Ph.D., Justin Naylor, Ph.D., and other licensed psychologists with extensive experience working with individuals with autism and ADHD.

The 2600-square-foot office, leased from North Forest Development, will feature areas for testing and evaluations of children with developmental delays, offices for individual and family counseling, and space for parent/child groups.

In addition to evaluations and clinical services, Summitís new Hamburg location will serve as a base of operations for Summit therapists (speech, occupational and physical) to work with children in the Southtowns under the age of five in homes, daycares and nursery school settings; and Service Coordinators who work with individuals with disabilities and their families linking them to essential support services within the community.

Summitís Genesis Community Support Services staff will also work from the Hamburg location providing mentoring, tutoring, skill building and behavioral support to individuals with mental health concerns.
